Magical Practice: Asking the Lady to Stop
Here's a sneak preview into new material I'm working on... Rhiannon is the Welsh shape-shifting goddess of sovereignty. Like Brigid in the Irish tradition and Bride in the Scottish, Rhiannon was said to grant the kingship of the land to her consort. She could be seen moving through the mist in the form of a white mare or a lady riding a white mare and though she never seemed to be moving quickly, she could never be caught, no matter how hard one rode. Her archetypal energy is the relentless force of time moving on through life and beyond, bringing the next phase, ready or not! In the Meeting Rhiannon class at Book Woman on Tuesday, October 14, we'll hear Rhiannon's story, journey to meet Rhiannon and learn from her how to weather these transitions and the hardships they sometimes bring. She can give us great strength and endurance. But she also grants the heart's desires of those who, instead of chasing after her, ask her to stop. So tonight I simply challenge you to stop what you're doing, pause in your relentless movement to take care of the next thing, drop into a meditative state, and ask the Lady for your heart's desire. You may be surprised to find it granted, even in the midst of life's greatest challenges. It is often these very times that teach us what is important -- the love of our family members and friends, our connection to the gods, the privilege of helping others, the beauty of music, art, and nature. What is your heart's desire in this moment? Are you open to receiving it? Love and Magic, WildCat
